The Buyer Diaries: Copenhagen /

Wow, what a day! Courtesy of the Copenhagen Fashion Council and Gallery Copenhagen, I’ve just arrived in Denmark’s rather snowy capital, wishing I had a Woolrich parka with me. Still, layering up in pretty much my entire suitcase of clothes should do the trick!

As evening crept in, we were whisked off by the Gallery Team to the Old Stock Exchange to celebrate the first night of CHFW and the start of Chinese New Year – the Year of the Horse, said to be a year of good fortune and prosperity. A cosmic coincidence, some might say, as this is also the year that Copenhagen and Beijing have joined together in a cultural and trade bond. Both the Chinese and Danish ambassadors were present, and joked that we were a far more lively and colourful crowd than they were used to hosting in the Stock Exchange (it wasn’t just me, I swear!).

We were treated to an eclectic showing of Copenhagen’s new, established and culturally apt designers in the form of Mads Dinesen and Utzon followed by a performance by the wonderful Red Poppy Ladies Percission group, who flew in especially to perform. And what a treat it was!

Post show we were taken to Dangleterre, one of the oldest and most beautiful hotels in Copenhagen for a preview of the Gallery designers, including Peter Jensen, Stine Goya and Ann-Sofie Back. Food and drink followed…

However, I for once opted for an early night to take advantage of the cosy Radisson Blu Hotel room and to crack on with my orders! Tak og godnat!

(Thank you and good night)

Love Lizzie xx
