Today was a packed day of appointments. We woke up to a misty walk over the river and across the tuilerie garden. First stop, Helmut Lang, where we spotted one of the sales agents sporting a pair of leather sandals from the SS14 collection. Under the guidance of the lovely Marcus, we were show what Helmut Lang has to promise for AW14. A masculine, monochrome collection as we know and love from Helmut but with a dash of indigo blue for good measure!

Next a short walk down to see another of our favourite New York designers, Alexander Wang. Inspired by the concept of deterioration, Wang’s AW14 collection features beautiful knitwear that delicately peels of your shoulder and frayed silk shirt hems. Disheveled elegance at its very best. The rose gold nip out of boot heels is also back with a new twist, as well as exciting new bag shapes to keep us on our toes.

Third main appointment of the day was Carven, where we were treated to a selection of delectable treats from Ladurée. After our Parisian puddings, we were refueled and ready to take in another stunning from this Parisian Powerhouse. We fell in love with Carven’s signature fitted wool coats and chunky knits, and when it came to deciding on what print to select we were torn – storm-scape silks or tattoo scribbles – or both!

One of my favourite parts of our Paris buys is tracking down something new and different for our START customer, to make sure our edit is always excitingly fresh. Today we were spoilt as ever for choice with newness…but you’ll have to wait and see for exactly what that is!
Day one over, we walked back to our little flat in the rain. Exhausted but excited, we swapped our shoes for the comfy clothes. Glamour over. Food, paper work and catching up on emails. Time to sleep (as soon as the copious amount of caffeine consumed subsides!!) ready to start again tomorrow!
Love Verity xx
